DUMB COPS OF THE WEEK: SUSPICIOUS CAR BLOWN UP AFTER BEING PARKED BY POLICE

When police found an abandoned car parked outside their station recently they considered it to be a suspicious vehicle, so they called the bomb squad, which carried out a controlled explosion.
The problem was, the car had been parked there by… the police!
A failure to communicate meant that the officers who had helped the car owner after he fell ill, and parked his car outside the station in Workington, Cumbria in the UK for safety, had not told other officers about the car.
Police Inspector Ashley Bennett said, "We have made contact with the owner of the vehicle, explained the situation and have apologised to him.”
I am not sure an apology is sufficient – if the police blew up my car I’d want some compensation!
