DUMB CRIMINALS OF THE WEEK: THEY BLEW UP THE WRONG MACHINE

A gang of “not very clever” thieves tried to blow up an ATM in order to get at the cash inside it, but targeted the wrong machine and blew up an automated statement printer instead.
The bungling robbers were in Berlin, Germany. A local resident heard a loud bang so alerted police. When the cops arrived, they found the device in the bank’s lobby had been “almost completely destroyed” – but two ATMs were only slightly damaged, and the money remained safely inside.
