The Peter Principle is one of those things you have probably seen in action, even if you don’t know it by name. It explains why things go wrong so often.
It states that people who are good at their jobs will keep getting promoted until they reach their level of incompetence. The consequence is that any organisation or company which has a hierarchical structure is going to end up with multiple people in positions they are simply not good at.
