DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: OVERSHARING ON FACEBOOK

A criminal who was on the run found out the hard way that you really should be careful what you share on Facebook.
Anthony James Lescowitch had been wanted since last July by police in Freeland, Pennsylvania for several crimes including aggravated assault. On Monday they posted a wanted notice about him to their Facebook page.
For unknown reasons, the wanted man decided to share this post with his friends. Perhaps he was boasting that they couldn’t catch him, nyah nyah nyah. But of course when you share a post, the poster gets notified, so the police department now knew who he was on Facebook.
They lost no time in messaging him, pretending to be an attractive woman. Lescowitz agreed to meet up with his supposed admirer and when he showed up at the agreed rendezvous, the police arrested him – just 45 minutes after he’d shared the Facebook post.
Remember, folks, Facebook is not private!
