WHAT ALAN HAS BEEN DOING

Alan has been working to program a new version of the message editor. Here’s a screenshot that shows you what the page where you write and edit messages looks like:
And here’s the listings page that shows you all of the messages in the file you are working on:
This is part of the Workbench that allows you to design your own planets. At its most basic, the message editor lets you customise the “You can’t go in that direction” messages used on your planet. Then if you want to get into the Advanced stuff, it’s used in conjunction with the event editor to make things happen to players who explore your planet.
The main reason for Alan to work on a new version of the editor is because the programming tools he uses to produce the graphic interface of the program has changed, being several versions on from that used to produce the old version.
The new version doesn’t have any whizzy new features, nor is the functionality any different, but the interface has been updated, as you can see from the screenshot.
The new editor should be released in a week or two.
