I've had some bad restaurant meals in my time, but being a reserved English person I rarely complain - I just resolve never to return. But not everyone is so restrained.
A well-known Japanese-Italian fusion chef was recently beaten to death - and the suggestion is that the culprits were disgruntled diners.
Miki Nozaawa had cooked in some of the top restaurants around the world. He recently opened a new eatery in a German vacation spot. Two customers had complained that they didn't like the fried noodle dish they were served and had left without paying the bill.
Later that evening, the chef encountered the pair in a bar, and it is reported he confronted them, saying "Pay your bill. Ten euros for each of you." Their exchange became heated and then turned violent, with the two unnamed assailants beating Miki so hard he had to be taken to hospital, where he died a few hours later.
The perps are alleged to have been drunk when they carried out the beating. They are still at large.
