REAL LIFE NEWS: SEE, I TOLD YOU HOUSEWORK WAS BAD FOR YOU!
by Hazed
A fire on board a US Navy submarine last month was caused by... a vacuum cleaner!
The fire, which caused an estimated $400 million, happened while the nuclear-powered sub was docked in Maine. It took about twelve hours to put out, and seven firefighters were injured.
A statement from the shipyard said that the cleaner was used by workers to clean up at the end of each shift. It was stored in an unoccupied space when the fire ignited. They don’t yet know why the gadget caught on fire. But it’s proof, as if we needed it, that housework really is a bad idea.
