REAL LIFE NEWS: LAST NIGHT A KEBAB SAVED MY LIFE

by Hazed

Doner kebabs are a staple food for late-night revelers in Britain. The slices of mystery meat in pitta bread, with copious salad and a generous dollop of fiery chili sauce always seems like the perfect meal when you’re drunk. (If you’ve never had one, you can read about them here.)

But now it turns out that doner kebabs can be life-savers, too. A court has heaRd how a man who was stabbed used a doner kebab to stem the blood flow.

James Hobbs got into a fight with Jamie Edney in Taunton, southwest England. Hobbs - who was holding a kebab at the time (very fortuitously as it turned out) - accused Edney of having an affair with his girlfriend. Hobbs punched Edney, who responded by stabbing Hobbs in the throat.

Hobbs used his kebab to staunch the wound, but still lost more than six pints of blood. Doctors told him he was lucky to be alive. The stab wound was very close to his vocal cords and he needed an operation to open his windpipe, and 27 staples to seal the cut.

Edney has been jailed for five and a half years.

Who knew that fast food could be such a lifesaver!
