SOME OF OUR COMMODITIES ARE MISSING

by Hazed

Reports have come into the Fed2 Star office that there is a massive shortage of two commodities: woods and xmetals. In fact, they are in such short supply that it is impossible to get a price check on either of them. It's as if they have been wiped out of all stockpiles and are no longer listed on the exchanges.

What is going on? Has the Galaxy been infested by giant, alien termites that have chomped their way through all the woods?

If so - what would account for the missing xmetals? It's unlikely that termites would also target these rather specialized commodities in addition to liking the cellulose contained in trees.

I thought, maybe, it was some virulent form of rust that had done for all the xmetals, but then one of my droids pointed out that unlike, say, iron, xmetals do not suffer from rust and are instead added to products to prevent them from rusting. The smarty-pants droid instead thought that maybe some mutated nano-virus was eating up all the xmetals. So that told me!

Whatever the cause, it was clear that Something Had To Be Done. So, naturally, we turned to Bella, controller of the universe, to sort things out.

Which she did. With a wave of her divine hand, she restored the missing commodities to the Galaxy. This doesn't replace the stock eaten up by the termites and the nano-virus, but it will allow stockpiles to start building up again.

Now if only she could restore the missing chocolate that somebody has stolen from my desk...
