TIME KEEPS ON SLIPPING... SLIPPING... SLIPPING...*

by Hazed

Last night, clocks in (most of) the US went back an hour heralding the end of the American summer. That puts you back in sync with us Brits on our side of the pond - with the normal five hour difference time difference between the east coast and the UK.

Now that all the messing about with time is finally done with for the season, Alan can think again about sorting out the lagging clock which delays the reset by about an hour and a half. He originally planned to do this last month, but real life got in the way.

As you will recall from the original info about this in the Star, we're not going to fix the problem by correcting the clock's time - that causes too many problems. Instead, thinking laterally, we're going to address the issue by changing the time that the reset happens.

The new reset time will be 11.30am server time - which, because of the horribly slow clock, will put it at approximately 1.00pm UK time, 8.00am eastern time - where it's supposed to be.

The reset change will happen next Saturday, November the 12. Saturday's reset will be at the new time.

Because of this, the gap between Friday's reset and Saturday's will be less than 24 hours. As a consequence, some of the house-keeping things the game does every twenty-four hours will not happen on Saturday, but will resume as normal at Sunday's reset.
