REAL LIFE NEWS: GOOGLING WAYS TO KILL

by Hazed

Oh joy, after several fallow weeks, I have come across a dumb criminal story that combines villainy with the misuse of technology.

A British family who wished to dispose of an inconvenient elderly relative used Google to search the net for "the easiest way to kill an old person".

The victim's adopted daughter, 16-year-old granddaughter and 19-year-old grandson have been convicted of conspiracy to murder - presumably because the Google searches made it quite clear this was premeditated.

Other search queries they made while contemplating how to bump off the poor 87-year-old man were "10 easy ways to kill someone with no trace," "dangerous drugs for the elderly," and "if you hit someone across the back of the head with a brick will they die or just get a bruise?"

Obviously they liked the answer to that last query best, because their chosen murder method was to attack him with bricks in plastic bags. Fortunately, he survived despite suffering head injuries.

The adopted daughter has been jailed for 17 years and the teenage offenders sent to youth detention centers.
