REAL LIFE NEWS: SEE, I TOLD YOU MOBILE PHONES AND GAME CONSOLES WERE BAD FOR YOU!

by Hazed

Kids these days, addicted to their gadgets, always texting and playing games on their consoles. But now they're getting their come-uppance, as it turns out they are starting to suffer from symptoms normally reserved for the old.

Excessive use of mobiles and game consoles, it is claimed, is causing arthritis-like pains in youngsters, according to the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR). (Strange name: would anyone actually be for rheumatism?)

They have been holding their annual conference in London, and consultants say that about 90% of British kids who are around eight years old now own at least one games console. Some of them spend up to seven hours a day playing, so doctors reckon there are unprecedented numbers of children showing up with pains normally found in elderly patients.

Well, shock horror: excessive and repetitive movements cause joint pain. Who'd have guessed it!

I would have thought this was a self-correcting problem. As soon as it starts to hurt, won't the kids stop playing so much? That would probably make the pain go away.
