REAL LIFE NEWS: JAILBIRD TRIES TO PUNCH HIS WAY TO FREEDOM

by Hazed

From over-reacting cops, we move to my favorite topic: dumb criminals. I am not sure if this one is dumb so much as desperate! The story is of the inmate in Oseola County jail on Florida, who tried to punch his way through a wall to freedom.

He failed. And - for the quote of the week - "His hand is very sore now."

Officers at the jail were alerted to his wacky escape plan when they heard loud banging noises coming from cell block CE. A corrections officer checked the cells but didn't find anything wrong. So he used security cameras to scan the cells reserved for inmates were had to be closely supervised, and noticed that something was blocking his view of the cell occupied by Hector Luis Campos, 22 years old. The criminal had used a sheet to obscure the view.

On further inspection, they discovered what had been hidden: Campos' swollen fist. A search of the cell found that brick near the door frame was broken, and there were pieces of paint and mortar in the toilet.

"He had been punching the brick," said spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain. "And his hand is very sore now."

I bet it was!
