REAL LIFE NEWS: IPHONE 4 SURVIVES FREEFALL

Speaking of the iPhone, the new model seems to be pretty much indestructible, if this news story is to be believed. A phone that was accidentally dropped out of a plane survived the 1,000-foot drop with nary a scratch.

The iPhone belonged to US Air Force Combat Controller Ron Walker, who works as a skydiving Jump Master. Recently he was up in a plane and he leant out of the aircraft door to look for landmarks - and his phone fell out of his pocket and fell to Earth from 1,000 feet.

He thought that he'd lost the phone for good, but friends advised him to try the Find my iPhone app to see if he could locate it, to give it a good burial - and maybe rescue important contact data. Sure enough, he was able to track the phone to a woodland area

Much to his astonishment, the phone not only still worked, it didn't have a dent or a scratch on it.

Now that's resilient!
