DUMB CRIMINAL OF THE WEEK: ROBBER HANDS OVER ID

by Hazed

If you plan to rob a bank you would think one of the first rules would be to remain anonymous. Which is what makes this criminal spectacularly dumb.

Nathan Wayne Pugh, 49 years old and on parole for two previous aggravated robberies, walked into a Dallas bank intending to rob it. Maybe he thought: third time lucky.

But things didn't go to plan. He marched up to the counter of the Wells Fargo bank and demanded the cash, whereupon the teller asked him to provide two forms of ID before she handed over the cash.

Pugh, incredibly, complied. He gave her his Wells Fargo debit card and a Texas state ID with his name on it.

He then tried to make his escape with 800 dollars but was arrested and has now been sentenced to eight years for this heist - to run concurrently with the 25 years he picked up for his earlier unsuccessful attempts at bank robbery.

Do you think he's learned his lesson yet?
