NEW VERSION OF TESLA AND ADVANCED WORKBENCH EDITORS

by Hazed

As promised last week, there is now a new version of the Object Editor available for Windows users that allows you to give the details to turn your objects into moving mobiles. At the same time, a new version of the Event Editor has been released which has some background changes to make it compatible with the new Object Editor.

Anyone who is using events - Technos or above, or POs who have paid slithy toves to do things early - should download the new versions here.

Save the files in your existing Fed2 Workbench folder, overwriting the old files.

New Tesla

There is also a new version of the Tesla planet checker which anyone who is working on planet files should download. This version fixes a couple of bugs. Download it from here.

Save these files in the Workbench folder, once again overwriting older files.

Overwrite Duplicated Files

Note that the Advanced Workbench and Tesla share some DLL files. The files are included in both of the downloads, so if you save the files to the same directory you will be asked if you want to overwrite them. It doesn't matter if you say yes or no, so long as you end up with one set of the DLL files.

Get Designing

With the new Object Editor you can make a start on designing your moving mobiles - see last week's Fed2 Star for how it works.

Alan will now work on the game code so that your mobile can actually walk - or hop, or wheel, or fly - around.
