FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday June 22
by Fancy-Fancy, Gengineer of Toontown

Four players turned out for tonight's edition of the Fed Phrase Game. Jfour, Gizmo, Merepoule, and Squeeky all showed up in Studio 1. I went over how to play for our new players, answered questions they had on playing the game, and that that all settled, had the players spin to set their playing order. Gizmo got the first slot, followed by Merepoule, then Jfour, then Squeeky when the mouse showed up.

Our first puzzle was a 2 word person (6 and 9 letters), and Gizmo was up first to start it. Gizmo added S, E, T, A, R, L, I and G to the puzzle, racking up 5350 points before attempting to solve, but getting the solution incorrect. Merepoule took over, spun once, added an H, then solved correctly - Jeritt Lightstar - to take Round 1 for 350 points.

Tonight's second puzzle was a 4 word thing (7, 2, 3, and 4 letters). Jfour was up next in the order to start this puzzle. He started off finding three N's for 750 each, then a T for 500, an H for 200, bought the E's, found an R, bought the O, placed a P for 350, then tried P, but it wasn't in the puzzle, ending his turn. Squeeky spun 400, but found no G's. Gizmo took over, and finding two L's for 450 each, a W for 400, buying the A's, and filling in the last blank with a C for 450, then solved - scanner on the wall - to take Round 2 for 1500 points.

The third puzzle was a 6 word phrase (3, 3, 2, 4, 3, and 5 letters). And Merepoule was next up to start it. She started off finding a T for 450, only to hit a Lose A Turn the next spin. Jfour landed on a free spin and picked it up with an H. His next spin landed on Bankrupt. He decided to save his free spin, and the turn passed on to Squeeky. The mouse found a pair of S's, an R, bought the E, found an F, two N's, bought the A, found a D, and bought the U, racking up 1700 points, before choosing an M missing from the puzzle. Gizmo landed on a free spin, but his choice of a P wasn't in the puzzle, either, so he didn't get to pick i up. Merepoule got the puzzle back and added a pair of L's for 100 each, a G for 350, a Y for 350, and a K for 1000, leaving only vowels. She solved the puzzle - The fur is long and silky - for 2350 points.

We had time for one more puzzle, so tonight's finale was a 6 word phrase (5, 5, 8, 2, 5, and 4 letters), and Jfour was up next to start, with a carried over free spin in hand. He found 3 S's for 300 each, 3 T's for 150 each, 4 R's for 200 each, an H for 200, bought the E's, found a D for 150, two P's for 700 each, bought the A's, found an M for 450, an L for 600, two G's for 600 each, and bought the I's before solving - large wings strapped to their arms - to win Round 4 for 5400 points.

That brought us to the end of our allotted time. Totalling up the scores, I found and announced that in third place with 1500 points was Gizmo, in second place was Merepoule with 2700 points, and our big winner with 5400 points, was Jfour! Congratulations to each of them. Join us for our next exciting edition of the Fed Phrase Game on July 6, starting at 10.00pm eastern. And don't forget FEDPARDY! June 29 in the same place, Studio 1 at 10.00pm eastern.
