THE AMAZING YO-YO PLANETby HazedPoor Twitch. He's been having a bad week, with a new planet that was acting very strange. He had a new planet to add to his star system, Darkness. Virose was his fourth planet, which he was allowed to have as a Plutocrat. He submitted the files, and Bella put them into the game and told him it would appear at the next reset. He waited eagerly to see his new world. Reset came around and he raced to the orbit location of his new planet and tried to board his shuttle to land on the world. But he couldn't. The planet wasn't there! He sent a confused email to Bella, wondering if he had done something wrong. Bella said "Ooops" and admitted to having typed the name of the new planet wrong in the file that lists all of the planet in the game. She quickly edited the file on the server and at the next reset, Virose appeared. Twitch was delighted. But his delight soon turned to panic, because the next day at reset, Virose had vanished again. What was going on? Was the planet shy... after it's belated debut, had it been overcome with nerves and rushed back into the wings, refusing to come out? Perhaps it was afraid of the dark, so didn't want to be part of a system called Darkness. Another panicky email to Bella, and he found out the truth. Bella had failed to change the mis-typed name in the version of the file on her own computer, and when she had put in another new star system, that version had overwritten the corrected version on the game server. Whoops! She fixed the typo again, and this time she fixed it in all the possible versions of the file, so Virose is now firmly nailed into position where it should be, and won't be running off again. |
