FEDPARDY!

Tuesday March 23
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

I had Haticusj, Trogdor, and Gizmo waiting for me in Studio 1 as I logged in to host tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Sjw also joined us in the studio, and Occy tuned into the camera's broadcast of the event on the channel. I went over the rules for our players, and after that, revealed tonight's categories. They were: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, Take a P, and I banged my -tion. The players spun the wheel for the chance at first selection, and Gizmo ended up with that honor. Gizmo picked Take a P for 1, and we were underway.

Haticusj rang in on that one, but got it wrong. Gizmo selected I banged my -tion for 1 next, and rang in and got it right. She continued with the category, and Trogdor got on the board with 2, picking it up after Haticus missed on it. Trogdor then found the first Daily Double of the game. With only 2 points so far, and allowed to risk up to the highest point value on the board of 5, he decided to risk 5 on it, and this was the answer:

Something you can trade by the ton, with "tion" in its name.

Trogdor got it with "What are munitions?" (Simulations would also have worked.) Continuing with the category, Gizmo got the 4-pointer, and everyone passed on trying the 5-pointer. Gizmo then started the Men are from Mars category. No one tried the 1-pointer, but Trogdor got the 2, then went back to Take a P for 2. Gizmo got that one, but then missed on the 3 to finish up the first half. At the break, Trogdor led with 9 points to 4 for Gizmo, and -3 for Haticus. That meant that Haticus, as the one trailing everyone else, would get first selection for Double Fedpardy.

With all remaining point values doubled, Haticus chose Take a P for 10 points. Trogdor rang in and got that one, and selected the 8 pointer to finish the category. Haticus tried it, but missed. Trogdor then started the Women are from Venus category for 2. No one attempted the 2, but Trogdor got the 4, and no one tried the 6. He then shifted to Men are from Mars for 6, which Haticus tried, but missed, and Trogdor then got. Gizmo got the 8 pointer in the category, and Trogdor picked up the 10 after Sjw rang in and missed. Trogdor then selected Women are from Venus for 8 and found the other Daily Double. With a 39-12 lead over Gizmo, Trogdor decided to risk just 1 point, and this was the answer:

You climb onto the back of this legendary beast, and dig your heels into his sides. "Gee up, horsey," you cry. Nothing happens, but then, you woudn't expect it to, because he's dead. Such a vicious, dangerous creature when he was alive, who would have thought he'd ever allow anyone on his back?

However, Trogdor could not identify Pegasus for that description to win his wager. Haticus rang in and got the 10 pointer in the category to finish Double Fedpardy. So at the end of Double Fedpardy, Trogdor had 38, Gizmo 12, Haticusj -7, and Sjw -10.

Trogdor and Gizmo advanced to Final Fedpardy, with the chance to wager as many of their points as they liked. The category on which they would base their wagers was *I Want Candy *. When Trogdor and Gizmo had made their wagers, I had provided the instructions for Final Fedpardy, and they verified they were ready, I presented tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

This treat from the candyman is described as "the monarch of confectionary items - expensive, luxurious and oh so yummy."

Gizmo responded with, "what is a sweetie", but that wasn't specific enough to be correct. She wagered 10 points, leaving her with 2.

Trogdor's response was, "what is chocolate", again not specific enough to be correct. The treat in question is the chocolate champagne truffle. Trogdor risked 12 points, which left him with 26, and that made him this week's FEDPARDY! champion.

Congratulations to Trogdor on winning this week's FEDPARDY! Gizmo finishes second, and thanks go to Haticusj and Sjw, who also played. Please join us again on April 6 at 10.00pm eastern for our next edition of FEDPARDY!
