SPOOF EMAILS ARE NOT FROM IBGAMESby hazedSpammers may have taken a Christmas break, but now they are back with a vengeance - and we are seeing an increase in emails that purport to come from ibgames, with addresses such as tech@ibgames.com or support@ibgames.com. The emails contain links for you to click on, for various bogus reasons, and you can bet that the links lead to sites filled with malware and other nasties. I can assure you that these emails are not really from us. We never send out any emails from generic addresses like that; our emails always come from named individuals (fi, alan and barb), except for the new groundhog email sent to newbods. If you get any emails from any other address @ibgames.com - just ignore it. In particular, do not click on any links in these emails. Yes, we do occasionally send out emails with links in them, but these are normally in response to an email from you asking for some information and will point to something on our website. Until such time as someone comes up with a magic solution to deal with spam, you need to exercise a bit of caution when going through your inbox, and don't get fooled by the spoof emails. |
