REAL LIFE NEWS: ROBOT DOUBLES FOR SALEby HazedFancy having a robot doppelganger of your very own? Got 20.1 million yen ($223,000) to spare? Then get your bid in, because Japanese robotics firm Kokoro will be building two of them, and they'll be on sale through department store operator Sogu & Seibu for a limited time as part of the special New Year's promotional sale. Kokoro will give the robot your own face, body, hair, eyes and eyelashes and also model its facial expressions and upper body movements after you. The doppeldroid's speech will be based on recordings of your voice. Orders will be accepted at the department stores from January 1 to 3. Only two are on sale, so if more than two orders are received, the lucky purchasers will be chosen by a random drawing. At that price, though, I don't know if they will get as many as two bids!
