AMAZON AXES SLITHY PAYMENTS

Earlier this week we were informed by Amazon that they were closing down their honors system, the payment scheme that we have used to take donations and sell slithy toves ever since we turned Fed2 free. While it's inconvenient to lose this facility, it was even more annoying that they gave us less than three days notice. And it's just before Christmas, too!

This means that for the last few days, ever since Amazon turned the payment system off, we haven't been able to sell you one-off purchases of slithies. Subscriptions have not been affected, because the monthly subs payments are handled by a different company.

We have now made alternative arrangements, and starting yesterday, we are using PayPal to take slithy payments. The price remains the same - $5 each, with a minimum purchase of $10 for two slithies. The maximum purchase is still 10 slithies for $50.

You do not have to have a PayPal account in order to buy slithies through the new system. When you get to the PayPal site, you can just give your credit card details to make the purchase. However, if you have a PayPal account and log onto it, you can make the purchase that way.

There's one other thing that has changed: you now give your Fed2 character name when you make the purchase, so that I will know who to give the slithies to as soon as I get the PayPal notification.

So if you were planning to give Fed2 a Christmas planet and buy some slithies, well you can. And if you do, it will be much appreciated, because it's about time for our December bill to be paid. Remember, the game may be free to play, but it's not free to run, and we need some of you to buy slithies so we can pay the bills. Go to the extras page and make a donation by buying some slithies.
