CRYPTOGRAMS

Saturday November 29
by Catspaws

It was a great week for the kitty. Of all creatures, I do believe cats are better able to celebrate Thanksgiving, because we have so much to be thankful for. Such as tuna. And catnip. And can openers. And pickled mice. And nicely roasted turkeys! Anyway, the kitty was well-stuffed and contented and ready to play Cryptograms.

The first puzzle, naturally, centered around the Thanksgiving table. Munabilo, Jezz and Shrevo were able to decipher this list of tasty morsels in no time.

Of course, after eating, (and a short catnap), it is natural to feast on pie. Munabilo, Jezz and Shrevo managed to decipher this list as well. (I was secretly rooting for Jezz. She bribes well. But I don't think anyone could tell I was rooting for her...)

Did someone say Turkey? The next list involved words that go with Turkey. You cannot eat them, but they are interesting nonetheless. Jezz managed to solve this puzzle first, and Shrevo had some distractions.

Shrevo was back in form for the next puzzle, maintaining his third place behind Munabilo and Jezz.

We lost Shrevo again for the last puzzle, though Munabilo and Jezz managed to solve the list of things to do on Thanksgiving Day. I must say I was impressed with Jezz since she is from 'across the pond', yet managed to do so well with a group of American-themed puzzles.

When the scores were tallied, Munabilo came in first, Jezz came in second, and Shrevo took third place. Be sure to join us on Saturdays for the brainiest game in Fed, Cryptograms. And you can pull up old issues of the Star to practice.
