PLANET HOPPING REVIEW

JollyRoger in the Cutlass System
Bassetopia in the Canine System
by Trilleth

There were new planets in the Fedverse... and I missed them. Perhaps I can be excused on the grounds that I was being courted, somewhat. Whatever the case, I dragged myself away from my new spouse early (oh, yawn!) one morning in the middle of our honeymoon and headed out to check out FOUR new planets. Here's my thoughts on two of them, and you can read about the other two next week.

JOLLYROGER

I felt rather at home on the planet Jollyroger. Might've been all the water. Might've been the pirates. It was NOT the lack of shopping and beds, however. The planet is smaller than some, but very descriptive and a visit to the famed pirate ship itself is definitely a must. I finally left when I grew tired of being called a darn fool... after all, there are other planets out there to see!

RATINGS:
Food: 5. Plenty of ale to swig, but a limited supply of the stuff that puts on pounds. I'll go here for my next diet.
People: 2. I did meet some guards who wanted to get to know me a bit better, but the friendly people were a bit lacking.
Bed: 1. I'm going to assume there was a bed in the room those guards hustled me out of, but I didn't get to USE it.
Water feature: 10. It's a water planet, so I felt right at home.

BASSETOPIA

Alright, I had a hard time coming to grips with a planet full of dogs... and slobber. I mean, look at me. Do I look like a slobber-loving person? No. However, since I never actually saw a basset during my stay, I'll just have to assume they were all sleeping off the SlobberFest or something. I briefly got stuck in the Memorial Walk and had to shower afterwards, but otherwise this dog-loving planet was very easy to navigate.

RATINGS:
Food: 2. I don't DO dog food. I think there was other food at the Crusty Old Bar, but I sat in something unmentionable and had to go shower... again.
People: 2. What people? It's a dog planet, for Hazed sakes! I've heard bassets are very friendly, but most of the ones I saw at a safe distance were sleeping.
Bed: 6. Bassets apparently like to sleep, so there were plenty of places to lounge around. They were DOG-shaped spaces... but they were still there.
Water feature: 3. I had to give points here, even though there isn't really a water feature. With all the slobber, though, nothing is ever really DRY.
