REAL LIFE NEWS: THE DALEKS KIDNAPPED MY GIRLFRIEND!

by Hazed

Of all the nutty ideas people have come up with to win back an ex-girlfriend, this one takes the prize. A jilted boyfriend planned to have a friend abduct his girlfriend, so that he could heroically rescue her.

James Wakefield is currently up before Nottingham Crown Court in England for this crazy scheme. But it gets ever better. He was willing to pay his friend Aaron Rawson £20,000 to carry out the fake kidnap... and he wanted him to wear a Dalek voice-changer helmet while doing it.

For those that don't know, the Daleks are the number one most scary villains ever from the Dr Who science fiction TV show.

But back to this crazy Dalek kidnap plot. Rawson says he thought Wakefield was joking until he showed up clutching the helmet, some night vision goggles, handcuffs, an air pistol, a balaclava, a boiler suit and a knife block. He was supposed to go to the woman's home, hold the knife to her throat, then bundle her into the boot of a car and drive her into the woods. But after waiting outside her home, Rawson bottled out and abandoned the plan. Twice.

The first time, he ran away after he was "spooked" by a cat. The second time, the headlights of an approaching car frightened him.

Wakefield was found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap and sent to jail for 14 months. Rawson got a 9 month sentence, suspended.

It's not at all clear how the Dalek helmet was going to be used... did it go on over the balaclava? I can't quite picture it. I doubt this pair of idiots could, either!
