GEEK WEDDING: DON'T FORGET TO INVITE THE ALIENS

by Hazed

We've been holding weddings in weird and wonderful places in Fed ever since the game started, and perhaps the most bizarre location for nuptials was on the surface of the sun, in the early days of Fed2, before death was turned on.

In real life, you're pretty much restricted to getting married on the surface of the Earth. But that might change soon. A Japanese company called First Advantage is teaming up with commercial spaceflight firm Rocketplane Global, Inc to offer a wedding package that concludes with a one-hour space flight. The deal includes four days of training in advance of the ceremony. The happy couple and four guests will get to experience four minutes of weightlessness during the trip.

The cost of this amazing marriage is 240 million yen, or $2.3 million each. (I don't know if that's each trip, or each person... that would make a big difference.)

This sounds fantastic, although having such an experience at the start of a marriage guarantees that things can only get worse.

I suppose you have a choice about the timing: you can set things up so that the four minutes in zero-g is when the ceremony takes place, or have the wedding earlier and use the micro-gravity environment to consummate the marriage!
