REAL LIFE NEWS: ONE RESPONSE TO BAD FASHION

by Hazed

I hate it when people stroll into Chez Diesel in those boring grey coveralls. Such a fashion disaster is the sort of thing up with which I will not put. They are sure to feel my scorn as I nag them to change into something more original.

But at least I don't shoot them.

That's what happened to an 18-year-old in Jacksonville, Florida, last week. Early on Saturday evening, John C Constantin followed David A Mitchell into the courtyard area of the apartments where they both lived, and told him to pull his pants up. Presumably, Mitchell was following that popular fashion of wearing trousers slung so low that they display what we in England call Builder's Bottom. Not a pretty sight!

Mitchell knew his shorts were sagging so he pulled them up, but this didn't satisfy Constantin, who said it wasn't enough and kept on coming at him. Mitchell pushed him off and tried to walk away - which is when Constantin shot him! Something of an over-reaction, I would say.

Mitchell was taken to hospital but released the same day. He said that the bullet was still in his side but the doctors say he'll be fine. Constantin was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Apparently, he told police it was self-defense, because Mitchell was the one that assaulted him - but witnesses refute that. He's in jail on $100,000 bail. Serves him right.
