FEDPARDY

Tuesday June 3
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Jewells, Munabilo, and Beandip joined me in Studio 1 for tonight's game of Fedpardy. Trilleth watched the camera's relay on the channel. I verified that everyone knew how to play, and when satisified, told everyone tonight's categories, which were: Asteroids, The Arts in Sol, Q-Ball, and The House Special. I then had the players spin the wheel once each to determine who would get the first selection, and Beandip won the honor.

Beandip selected Q-Ball for 2 to start, and also rang in first to get it correct. Jewells then got the 4 and 5 point answers back-to-back, the players passed on the 3, and Munabilo then got the 1 point answer. Munabilo then started the Asteroids category for 1, and got the first one. But it then responded incorrectly on the 2 pointer, along with Jewells. Munabilo then found the first Daily Double in Asteroids. It decided to risk 5 points, and this was the answer:

A fierce-looking woman with a clipboard asks you what business you have visiting, and when you cannot give a satisfactory answer, she gestures you towards the door back to reception, in a very peremptory manner.

Munabilo could not come up with anything, though, so it lost 5 points. Munabilo switched to The House Special for 1, which Beandip tried, but missed, and then for 2, which Munabilo got to bring us to the break. Jewells led at the half with 7 points to 1 for Beandip, and -3 for Munabilo. That meant Munabilo would get the first selection of Double Fedpardy.

It chose The House Special for 6 to start Double Fedpardy, and also beat Beandip to the buzzer to get it and get out of the hole. No one tried the 8 pointer, but Beandip got the 10 pointer to vault into the lead to finish the category. He then started The Arts for 2. Munabilo rang in just in time to respond to it, and did so correctly. It followed up by also scoring the 4 pointer. Nobody tried the 6, but Munabilo then found the other Daily Double under the 8. With 9 points to Beandip's 11 and Jewells' 7, Munabilo decided to wager 3 points for the lead. This was the answer:

The Venus Museum has an exhibit entitled Myths and Legends, featuring this character.

Munabilo got it correct with "What is Pegasus?" to take the lead by a point. It finished the category for 10, and also rang in and got it right to extend its lead. That left Asteroids for 8 and 10, both of which went unattempted, bringing us to the end of Double Fedpardy.

The scores then were: Munabilo 22, Beandip 11, Jewells 7, putting all three into Final Fedpardy, where they could wager as many of their points as they desired. To help them decide, the Final Fedpardy category was Sol Objects and Mobiles. When all the wagers were set, I reminded them to phrase their responses in the form of a question, and all three verified they were ready, I revealed tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

This mobile used to have a job with the Galactic Administration under the rule of Ming the Merciless, and it will talk about it.

Jewells responded with, "who is Deisel?" But that was incorrect, and cost her her wager of 7 points.

Beandip didn't get an answer in, so he lost his 7 point wager as well.

That left Munabilo. It did not get a response in in time, either, though it did send "what is the clerk of the purple wax?" late. That wasn't correct anyway. The correct mobile in this case was the weeble. Munabilo likewise wagered 7 points, leaving it with 15, and this week's Fedpardy championship! Congratulations and thanks to Munabilo, Beandip, and Jewells on placing first, second, and third in tonight's game, and thanks to our audience who tuned in to watch. Join us again on June 17 at 10.00pm eastern for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY!
