REAL LIFE NEWS: HOW'S THIS FOR A CONCEALED WEAPON?

by Hazed

Police in Nottingham, England have found a shocking weapon: a stun gun disguised as a mobile phone. The illegal weapon can deliver a jolt of 900,000 volts which will knock anyone on their ass, and could prove fatal for small children or old people.

The gun was disguised as a Sony Ericsson W700. It looks like a normal phone but at the press of a button it will shock a victim via two small metal prongs. It's a lot more powerful than the "non-lethal" Taser, which has had a mobile phone version available for some time.

Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of the gun and remanded in custody. They have also been charged with various other offences including burglary.

But if you think that's shocking, how about this concealed weapon: a flashlight which unfolds into a machine gun! Take a look at a video of a prototype being demonstrated here.

Stop press: just before publishing the Star, I was reminded by Alan that James Bond used a shocking mobile phone in the film Tomorrow Never Dies. It had other uses, too: it let him drive his car by remote control. See the details here.
