FEDPARDY!

Tuesday February 12
by Fancy-Fancy, Mogul of Toontown

Three players joined me in Studio 1 for this evening's edition of FEDPARDY! Bubba, Angelfowl, and Otter showed up to test their knowledge of Fed-related trivia. As everyone knew the rules already, I went right to the categories - Love is in the Air, Fun and Games, I banged my -tion, and Transportation in Fed - and let the players spin for the chance to pick first. Angelfowl won that honor, and selected Fun and Games to start.

Otter got the 1 pointer, Bubba missed the 2, but got the 3, and Otter missed on the 5 in that category, before switching to Love is in the Air. The 4-pointer got passed, Otter got the 3, Angelfowl got the 5, and the 1 and 2 point answers got passed on. Angelfowl then found the first Daily Double of the game to finish the first half, with the 4 point answer in Fun and Games. She decided to risk 2 points, and this was her answer:

In several places around the solar system you can see the equipment for this game. Frequently, the equipment is also pinning a picture.

She couldn't come up with "What is darts?", however, so she led at the break with only 3 points, to 1 for Bubba and -1 for Otter. Otter got the first selection of Double Fedpardy, and started that off with "I banged my -tion" for 2. Bubba rang in first, but got it incorrect, while Otter got it right to switch places with Bubba. Otter then selected and got the 4 pointer, then found the other Daily Double under the 6. Bubba was pushing him to risk the maximum 10, but Otter decided to risk 3 on it, and this was his answer:

Something you can trade by the ton, with "tion" in its name.

He came up with a valid response - "What is munitions?" - to boost his score to 8. Otter then went on to select, and get, the 8 and 10 point answers to run the category. That left Transportation in Fed, and Otter started with the 2 pointer. Bubba was quickly ringing in on all of these, and got the 2, but missed the 4, and Angelfowl got that one. Bubba got the 6 and 8 pointers, but missed the 10, and no one else tried that one. So at the end of Double Fedpardy our scores were:

Otter: 26
Angelfowl: 7
Bubba: 1

All three advanced to Final Fedpardy, and to help them decide their Final Fedpardy wagers, I gave them the category of "I Want Candy". Otter, Angelfowl, and Bubba all decided their wagers, and when they verified they were all ready, I presented tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

This treat from the candyman is described as "the monarch of confectionary items - expensive, luxurious and oh so yummy."

Bubba wrote down, "What is Chocolate?", but we needed a more specific response than that, so it cost him. Bubba wagered his only point, and dropped down to nothing.

We went to Angelfowl next. She also responded (though with a plug), "What is... Chocolate!! ((may not be but chocolate is yummy, just ask Hazed :P))" I'm sure Hazed might agree, but it again was not specific enough. Angelfowl wagered 5 points, leaving her with 2.

That brought us to Otter, who entered with a commanding lead. His response was, "what is a sweetie?", but again, not specific enough. The correct response was "What is a chocolate champagne truffle?", as one will see if you happen to get that chocolate sweetie from the candyman. Otter wagered 3 points, ensuring he could not be caught, and secured this week's Fedpardy championship.

Congratulations to Otter on first place, Angelfowl on second place, and Bubba on third place. Join us again on February 26 at 10.00pm eastern for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY!, and February 19 for the Fed Phrase Game.
