FEDERGORIES

Talk about save the best til last!! The final Federgories of 2007 turned out to be a humdingers as Andrew, Privatefuzzy, Dougal, Ronin and Phedre fought it out in a thrilling game that saw just three points separating all five players by the end.
Round 1 was me copping out on a present for a lady friend and taking suggestions from the players, with only Phedre failing to score. The second round was a bonus round as we tested their ability to remember as many films starring Mel Gibson as possible, with Phedre scoring 4 points and Dougal and Ronin taking a point apiece. Round 3 was the first Federgory of the night and saw Dougal take the only points as we sought player names starting with the letter 'C' - the other players all managing to cancel each other out. Rounds 4 and 5 saw all the players getting a maximum score as I again sought advice on a Christmas present and also found out what each player's favourite Christmas song was.
So at the halfway stage it was all there for the taking with Dougal and Phedre tied on 6 points, Ronin with 4 and Andrew and Privatefuzzy both on 3 points.
The second half kicked off with our second Federgory of the game and PrivateFuzzy and Phedre took full advantage as they guessed player companies starting with the letter 'S'. Round 7 again saw all players taking a point each for revealing the contents of a Christmas Cracker. (Though only after I had to explain what a Christmas Cracker was to our friends from across the water. To save my very poor explanation, take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_cracker.) Round 8 was our third Federgory of the night as players sought to name Fed2 planets starting with the letter 'T'. Phedre and Privatefuzzy cancelled each other out whilst Dougal and Ronin took 2 points each for their efforts. In Round 9 we sought a Christmas board game starting with the letter 'M' and everyone opted for Monopoly, so no points scored by anyone that round, and the final round was another bonus round in which topically we looked for movies that contained the word Christmas in the title. Scorers this round were Andrew with 4 points, Ronin with 3 and a point each to Privatefuzzy, Dougal and Phedre.
So the scores were totted up and amazingly, there were only three points between all 5 players, with a three-way tie for first place!! So congratulations to the three winners, they being Dougal, Phedre and Ronin. Commiserations to the two runners up also, Andrew and Privatefuzzy who came so close.
