ON THE WEB: EARTHRISE ON THE MOON - A NEW VIEW

by Hazed

Seeing pictures of the Earth from space is nothing special now. We've all got used to the images taken by assorted satellites, probes and spacecraft, that we've forgotten the "wow" factor we experienced when we first saw such images as the famous "blue marble" that is our planet, or the sight of the Earth rising over the horizon of the moon.

But such pictures are still a remarkable sight, and here's a new version of the vision of the Earth as seen from our moon, taken by the Japanese robotic spacecraft Kaguya. I don't know about you, but it still makes me go "wow". Take a look at http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap071120.html.
