FAREWELL GIFT OVERFLOWS COMPANY INCOMES

by Hazed

You know the saying that you should never look a gift horse in the mouth? It means that if someone gives you a present you shouldn't start to inspect it for flaws. I guess because it's bad manners. But sometimes, the gift isn't what it seems, so I think the saying is baloney.

Even when a gift is given in the right spirit, it can have bad consequences.

All of which is by way of introducing an explanation of why some companies are showing rather peculiar income figures! A few nights ago, a player decided to leave Fed2 in a rather spectacular way, by DDing his main character and his many alts. Before undertaking this grand goodbye gesture, he generously bestowed a final gift on the Financiers who owned shares in all his (and his alts') many companies: he stripped the assets by selling off everything he could, then paid out huge divvies to empty the companies of their groats.

Unfortunately, those that owned shares in several of the companies (or even all of them) found that the cumulative total that was pumped into their own companies was too much. It inflated the Income figure so much that it overflowed the allowable space for the number (which, as anyone who has been playing Fed for a while will remember is around 2.1 gigagroats) and thus flipped it over into a very large negative number!

If this happened to your company, and your Income is showing a large negative number, don't panic. You need to email a clip of your company display to feedback@ibgames.com so we can put things right! Please put "Fed2" somewhere in your subject line, to ensure that the mail gets where it's meant to.
