FEDPARDY!

Tuesday, September 25
by Fancy-Fancy, Mogul of Toontown

Four players came to Studio 1 tonight to play tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Lagkiller, Stiddleficks, Butters, and Fievel all came to the studio knowing how to play, so I went right to the categories for tonight's game. They were: Don't Try This at Home, Dial M for Murder, The Galactic Administration, and Species in Fed. Stiddleficks won the right to select first and took Don't Try This at Home for 3 to start the game.

Butters tried that one, but responded incorrectly, and no one else tried it. Everyone passed on attempted the 4 pointer in the category next, prompting comments about a demi-goddess-forsaken category. Stiddleficks decided to swtich categories to Dial M for Murder for 3 points with the next selection, and after Fievel responded incorrectly, Lagkiller rang in and responded correctly for the first positive points of the game. Lagkiller selected Don't Try This at Home for 5, apparently to get the category out of the way, and Stiddleficks rang in and got it for 5 points. She also got her next selection of M for 4, before Lagkiller grabbed M for 5. He then selected Don't Try This for 1, and got it after Fievel missed it, and selected the 2 to finish it off, which Stiddleficks got. Butters got Dial M for 2, and Fievel Dial M for 1 to finish the first half. Stiddleficks led with 11, to 9 for Lagkiller, -1 for Butters, and -3 for Fievel at the half, giving Fievel the first selection of Double Fedpardy.

With all remaining answers having the point values doubled, Fievel selected Species in Fed for 10 points. However, no one rang in to attempt to name Madame Mitzu's species, and Fievel selected the other 10 point question, in the Galactic Administration. Fievel rang in on it, but then couldn't come up with a response, which cost him 10. Lagkiller and Fievel then both missed the 8 pointer in the category before Stiddleficks responded correctly. Stiddleficks selected Species for 4, and picked up those points after Lagkiller tried and missed. Stiddleficks selected the 6 pointer next, and Lagkiller got it. Lagkiller then found the first Daily Double in Species in Fed. He decided to make it a true Daily Double and no more, risking his 3 points. His answer was:

The Arcturan version of this is over 7 feet tall; its head and body black with yellow and white stripes; body fairly stout; wings smoky gray. They are noted for their aggressive temper and grouchiness.

Lagkiller tried, "What is a slithy?", but that was incorrect. (The correct response was a wasp.) Lagkiller decided to finish the category, but no one tried the 2 point answer, leaving the Galactic Administration category. Lagkiller selected it for 2, but no one attempted it. Stiddleficks got the 4 point answer, and then had to go, leaving the other Daily Double as the remaining answer. I allowed a couple minutes to see if she would return, but she did not, so I decided to make this Daily Double one that anyone could ring in to respond to. Lagkiller placed a bet for 10 if he rang in on it, while Butters placed a bet for 2 if he rang in. The answer was:

You can find William March Tweed, better known by this nickname, in charge of the planning and zoning department.

Butters rang in and responded, "Who is Puckleberry?", but he was not the right one, costing him 2 points. Lagkiller passed on attempting this one and stayed put, and we came to the end of Double Fedpardy. Stiddleficks had 27 points, Lagkiller 0, Butters -3, and Fievel -21, leaving Stiddleficks the only one eligible to advance to Final Fedpardy, but she had left for the night. Her score made her this week's Fedpardy champion. Congratulations, Stiddleficks! And thanks to Butters, Lagkiller, and Fievel for also playing.

Join us again on October 9, beginning at 10.00pm eastern, for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY! Also join us October 2 in Studio 1 at 10.00pm eastern for the Fed Phrase Game.
