Alternate Reality

A few weeks ago as I went into stasis, as usual, I had no idea that I would awaken in a whole new reality.

I awoke as a new groundhog, wandering around Earth with a tiny little clawed non-opposable thumb in my mouth. At first I assumed I was having some sort of stasis-induced dream or nightmare, but quickly realized that it was no such thing. I waddled along the main street toward the city and saw along my way many other groundhogs that I once recognized as the movers and shakers of the galaxy. They were all somewhat dazed, and many were crying out for their home planets, or factory offices.

I made my way, with the rest of the herd, to the GA buildings and went inside to see if I could find an answer to this frightening situation. At first the administration played it off like there was nothing at all amiss, but it became apparent as more and more dazed furry critters waddled in, that an explanation would have to be forthcoming.

They immediately opened the complaints offices and staffed it with many info droids who, upon closer examination, were found to be the ruined droids from Victor's offices back in the Terminal building. After much chittering from the present groundhogs, they finally managed to get one of the info droids working, and he began to answer questions.

It seems that there was some sort of distortion reported around the Secret system sometime prior to the event. No one really has any clear idea if that had anything to do with what happened, but upon visiting the system and the planet of Lair, I discovered a huge device there that is being kept in volcano.

I was secreted into the volcano by a local smuggler who knew a back way in. Upon finding the machine I overheard two technicians talking about the results of some "mostly successful" test and the need for only some "minor adjustments" before the machine would be fully operational.

After speaking to a few of the locals there, I determined that a vortex had opened up in the neighboring star system that appeared to be created by intense gravitational fields generated from near the base of the volcano holding the device. After a distortion field swept through each system they all claim to have "flowed" into the vortex, along with "many planets, stars, and space stations." All of the witnesses claim they instantly were back on Lair again, but that everything was slightly askew as though they were living the same life in an alternate reality, a few details different here and there with each of them.

Well, since this is exactly what I had experienced, I can't help but believe there may be some truth to this theory. The info droid for the GA complaints department appears to malfunction whenever I query him about it, so I don't have anything official from the GA on the matter.

Will they ever tell us the truth behind the event? Do they know what the truth is? Are they in league with Lair on a cover up? These details and more will be my mission until I get to the bottom of the entire ordeal.

More Madness and Mayhem

Upon returning from my undercover mission to Lair I made my way to the Star offices on Earth to file my report and see if I make more money in this reality then I did in the last. (No.)

As I sat at my desk, I heard a crumple under my rear and discovered a note left on my chair by an anonymous author. A few scribbled words, obviously written in a hurry, stated that there was a huge wedding in the works with a mind-blowing reception that would include contests and slithy prizes.

If anyone can discover the identity of the couple in question, please contact me right away.
