GADGET OF THE WEEK: THE CHAIRBOTby HazedNow here's an invention that I can really see myself using - the chairbot. It's basically a chair with legs, or if you look at it a different way, a robot with a chair instead of a body. It can carry a person weighing up to 100kg (that's about 220 lbs for those using old fashioned measures). The passenger, or whatever you call the person in the chair, controls the robot using a built-in joystick. The info doesn't say how fast it moves, unfortunately, so I don't know if we're likely to see chairbot races any time soon. Applications could be carrying old and disabled people, or helping a person move heavy loads. And of course it has military possibilities: mount some weapons on the chairbot controlled by a soldier in the chair, and you've got a whole new toy to play with!
