SOFT SHOE SHUFFLE

by Hazed

The highly paid workers who loaf around in depots, brewing endless cups of tea while coming up with strategies to avoid doing any work, are not happy. They have been in negotiation with the Galactic Trading Guild over the issue of shuffling goods in depots. Although the basic workers in warehouses capitulated last week and agreed to take on the extra duties, the depot stevedores were holding out and asking for outrageous concessions in return for their agreement.

They knew they would have to agree in the end. After all, they were up against the greatest salesmen in the Galaxy in the Guild, who usually get their own way in the long run. But they were sure they could string out the negotiations for a few more weeks while their representatives enjoyed the lavish hospitality laid on by the Guild (no mere beer and sandwiches for these workers!) before they were forced to give in.

What they didn't reckon on was the Guild bringing in the really big guns... the lawyers. And not just any lawyers, but the most successful law firm of the last couple of centuries, Messrs Wiley, Guile & Wangle, who have never been known to lose a case or fail at the negotiating table.

So the stevedores gave in, grudgingly, and will now shuffle goods in depots, which means Industrialists and Manufacturers can type 'SHUFFLE' to move everything in the depot on their current planet down to the lowest numbered bays.
