FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday May 15
by Fancy-Fancy, Engineer of Toontown

Four players joined me in Studio 1 for the Fed Phrase Game. Garioso, Stiddleficks, Supercpo, and Sephorin all came out to play in tonight's game. Hearing that the game is like the old Earth TV show Wheel of Fortune told our players all they needed to know for how to play, so we got right into the game. First we settled the order in which the players would take their turns, and Stiddleficks got the first slot, followed by Supercpo, then Sephorin, and Garioso.

Tonight's first puzzle was a 6 word phrase (5, 5, 5, 7, 3 and 3 letters), and Stiddleficks started it off. She started off by finding a pair of S's for 800 points, and bought the E's and O's. She added an R and two N's before landing on a Bankrupt. Supercpo spun 1000 to start, but couldn't find any C's. Sephorin uncovered three H's, and three T's for 2400 points, then a G and two L's for 600 each. She bought the O's, but then called a B missing from the puzzle. Garioso got a whirl, only to have the wheel land on Lose a Turn, turning it back over to Stiddleficks. She filled in the F, but then missed with a W, giving the puzzle back to Supercpo. CPO placed an M for 1000 points, bought the A's, then solved the puzzle - alien moons float through the sky - for 750 points.

Tonight's second puzzle was a 4 word phrase (5, 4, 7, and 6 letters), and Sephorin got to start it. Stiddleficks announced she had to go for the night and bowed out of the game. Meanwhile Sephorin uncovered the R and T's before buying an E which was not in the puzzle. Garioso got a chance, only to spin another Lose a Turn. Supercpo placed an H before selecting an L missing from the puzzle. Sephorin got the puzzle back and proceeded to go the rest of the way, filling in all the remaining letters, and then reading what was on the board - brown with tobacco stains - for 7000 points.

Garioso got to start Round 3, where the puzzle was a 5 word place (1, 4, 2, 3, and 5 letters). He finally landed on a number, 400, and found two N's for 800 points. He bought the A's, found an H and T, and then the E's, then tried buying an O, which was not in the puzzle. Supercpo found an L, then bought the remaining vowel in the puzzle, an I, and then a P before landing on Lose a Turn. Sephorin landed on 1000, but there were no D's for her. Garioso got the puzzle back, and landed on Free Spin. He picked that up by finding a pair of S's, then added 200 for the remaining G, filling in the last blank, and then solved - A Pane in the Glass - for 600 points.

We had time for one more puzzle tonight, and Supercpo got to start tonight's final puzzle, 5 word things (4, 4, 4, 2, and 6 letters). CPO's first spin landed on Bankrupt, and Sephorin took over. She called T, S, N, A, L, P, O, F, and U before calling a missing G. Garioso couldn't find a B, and decided to hold onto his Free Spin. Supercpo spun 350, but found no M's. Sephorin landed on 200, but found no Z's. This time Garioso landed on 1000, and after agonizing over which letter to choose, finally called R. There were two of them for 2000 points. The light seemed to go on there for everyone. He spun 100 next, and knowing he had the free spin, called X, and then used it to spin again, and call the W's on 450 instead. Garioso then read the whole puzzle - rows upon rows of plants - to take the round for 2900 points.

That brought us to the end of our game, and tonight's final scores found Supercpo in third with 750, Garioso in second with 3500, and Sephorin tonight's big winner with 7000 points. Congratulations to all our winners tonight. Join me again on May 29, beginning at 10.00pm eastern, for our next edition of the Fed Phrase Game. And don't forget FEDPARDY! on May 22, at the same starting time. I have also been handed a slithy tove to award the next winner of FEDPARDY! or the Fed Phrase Game. Will you be the one who wins it? Come out to play Tuesday night for your chance at the slithy tove.
