FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday April 3
by Fancy-Fancy, Engineer of Toontown

Four players joined me in Studio 1 for tonight's edition of the Fed Phrase Game. Richard was the first to walk into the Studio, apparently searching for the place to make a delivery, and was apparently surprised to find it was going to be the site of a game show, but hung around. Kblackdragon, Cricket, and Sarri also joined me in the studio, I explained how the game is played for our new players, and we then set about determining the order in which they would play. Sarri got the high number to go first, followed by Kblackdragon, and then Cricket. After watching a bit of the action, Richard decided to join in as well, and I put him in the order after Cricket.

Tonight's first puzzle was a 3 word phrase (7, 5, and 5 letters). Sarri got to lead it off. She racked up 2900 points from the N's, R's, G's, and S before choosing a C missing from the puzzle. Kblackdragon got a spin, only to have the wheel land on Bankrupt, turning the puzzle over to Cricket. Cricket promptly placed the W's and L, leaving only vowels, then solved it - wearing large wings - for 1200 points.

The category for our second puzzle was 3 word things (8, 12, and 8 letters). Richard got to start this puzzle, and did so auspiciously, finding the S's to pick up a free spin, and then four N's for 1000 points each. He landed on Lose a Turn with his next spin, and decided to use his free spin then and there to continue his turn. He couldn't find any L's with his next spin, though, and Sarri got a chance at the puzzle. There were, however, no D's for her. Kblackdragon got the puzzle, and placed a pair of R's for 1200, only to then miss with a P. Cricket found two T's for 400 points, and then spun Free Spin, but couldn't pick it up with a G missing from the puzzle. Richard got another shot at the puzzle with 4000 points, which he quickly turned into 5500 with three C's for 500 each. He bought the O's and I's, then spun and placed two M's for 300 each, and then solved - enormous construction machines - for 5600 points.

Kblackdragon announced he had to leave before we looked at our third puzzle tonight, which was a 3 word place (6, 7, and 5 letters), and Sarri got to start it. It was "Sorry, Sarri," on an S, though, and the puzzle passed to Cricket. She found an R, but no T. Richard found two N's and a G, but no C's. Sarri got a second shot at the puzzle and placed an H, but then a Lose a Turn got her. Cricket also got a second shot at the puzzle, but found no W's in it. Richard decided to buy the I's and O before spinning, and then placing a pair of L's, and pair of P's, buying a pair of E's, and then a pair of D's. He tried to solve, but did so incorrectly, turning it over to Sarri. She placed the final consonant, an F, for 600 points more, and then solved - hopper landing field - for 1300 points.

We had time for one more round tonight, and our fourth and final puzzle was a 5 word thing (6, 4, 4, 4, and 4 letters). Cricket was in line to start it, but apparently was having problems, so we skipped to Richard to start the puzzle instead. He found a T and two H's for 1150 points before landing on Lose a Turn, and Sarri took over. She found three L's for 600 points before taking a P that wasn't there. I paused a moment to see if Cricket had returned, and she hadn't, so we went back to Richard, who spun 1000 on the wheel, but couldn't take advantage with D. Sarri got the puzzle again, and added R's, S, O's, N, and I's before selecting K, which wasn't in the puzzle. The puzzle went back to Richard, who added a G, the A's, and the E's before spinning again and landing on Lose a Turn. Sarri spun 500 and added an F in one of the last two blanks in the puzzle, then solved it - larger than life size holo - for 3150 points.

That was all the time we had tonight, and so I added up tonight's final scores. In third place, with 1200 points, was Cricket! Second place went to Sarri, with 4450 points. And tonight's big winner, with 5600 points, was Richard! Not bad for someone who came across the game by accident, stayed and watched, and decided to play. You could be next to find fame and fortune in the Fed Phrase Game. Our next edition of it is on April 17, beginning at 10.00pm eastern. You'll also have a chance with FEDPARDY!, on April 24, with the same starting time. Why not join us in Studio 1 on Tuesday nights for game show fun. I hope to see you there.
