REAL LIFE NEWS: MOLE-ELECTROCUTION TRAGEDY

by Hazed

If you have ever suffered from those pesky burrowers, moles, in your garden then you will know the lengths some people go to try to eradicate the annoying diggers. There's a multitude of gadgets on sale purporting to kill or scare off moles, and some of them even work! But here's a story about a do-it-yourself attempt to eradicate the animals that ended in tragedy.

A retired German construction foreman tried to electrocute the moles in his garden... but unfortunately he ended up frying himself. The 63-year-old was found dead next to "a 380 volt cable and metal spikes rammed into the ground," according to a police spokesman. While the voltage was apparently enough to run a "cement mixer or heavy-duty power saw" it failed to electrocute any of the moles. Just the poor householder. Oh dear. As the spokesman concluded, "It was in any event an unorthodox method to try to get rid of moles."
