FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday September 19
by Fancy-Fancy, Founder of Toontown

Four scurvy scalawags joined me in Studio 1 for the Fed Phrase Game on this fine Talk Like a Pirate Day. We had Ondine, Axel, Liakell, and Medrwyn all coming in to the studio to take their shots at tonight's puzzles, while Djentsch and Dreameeyed watched the game on the channel. I explained how the game is played for our new players, which was nearly everyone. With the rules explained and no one left with any questions, the players spun to determine their playing order. Axel wound up first, followed by Ondine, Medrwyn, and Liakell. With everything set, it was time to play.

Tonight's first puzzle was a 5 word thing (5, 2, 3, 8, and 7 letters), and Axel got to start it. Axel ended up going all the way with this one, placing all the consonants and buying just one vowel along the way, and finally solving the puzzle - crest of the Magellan Society - for 7250 points.

Our second puzzle was a 5 word place (3, 5, 4, 2, and 4 letters). Ondine got to start this puzzle, and promptly landed on Lose a Turn, turning it over to Medrwyn. Medrwyn selected N on the first spin, only to find there were none in the puzzle. Liakell found an S for 200, only to lose it with a Bankrupt on the next spin. Axel found three T's before missing with an M. Ondine got the puzzle back, and this time ran with it. She uncovered the R's, H, F's, P, E, O's, C, and L's, leaving only vowels before solving - The first port of call - for 4400 points.

Medrwyn got to start tonight's third puzzle, which was a 5 word phrase (5, 11, 5, 3, and 8 letters). Medrwyn placed the N's, Arrrrr's, E's, T's, W, H's, and I before buying an O missing from the puzzle. That turned the puzzle over to Liakell, who took over. Liakell started with an S for 1000, then picked up a free spin with the D. She then added two P's, bought the A's, placed two M's, an L, and two C's, then read the puzzle to solve it - Where replacement parts are machined - for 3950 points.

As it turned out, our fourth puzzle would be the last one we had time for tonight, and Axel got to start it. Axel found the T, S's, and M, before a missing N ended his turn. Ondine took over and found three Arrrr's for 1200 points. Her next spin landed on Free Spin, but she couldn't get it with the L she called, as there were none in the puzzle. Medrwyn got the puzzle and found three C's for 1000 points each. He bought the I's and E's, then placed the H, bought the O's, found two F's, then picked up a Free Spin with a V, giving him 3000 points. He spun again, but to everyone's horror, landed on Bankrupt, wiping out his points. Medrwyn went ahead and used his free spin, and got back 750 points with a Y, leaving only vowels in the puzzle, then solved - very rich customs officers - for 750 points.

That brought us to the end of tonight's game. Our final scores tonight were:

Axel - 7250
Ondine - 4400
Liakell - 3950
Medrwyn - 750

Congratulations to all our winners tonight, and especially our big winner tonight, Axel! Thanks also to our audience who joined us on the channel tonight. Our next Fed Phrase Game comes on October 3. Join me then in Studio 1 for the next edition of the Fed Phrase Game. And on September 26, join me in Studio 1 for FEDPARDY!
