THE IN-GAME HELP SYSTEM, FOR ALL YOUR FED2 NEEDS

Did you know that Fed2 has an extensive in-game help system? If you can't remember the exact way a command works, type 'HELP commandname' and you will get an explanation of the syntax, and what the command does. You might also get told about related commands, too.

Or if you want to do something but don't remember what the command actually is, try asking for help on the subject. For example, new players can get the kind of help they need when they start the game with 'HELP START', plus there's 'HELP MOVE', 'HELP PERMIT', 'HELP SPACESHIP', 'HELP MAP'... and lots of other help entries.

Some of the help entries don't go into all the details of a subject; instead they point you to the relevant page in the Idiot's Guide on the web site, which is more suited to giving you lots of information.

So when you have a query about a command, or you can't remember exactly how something works, your first port of call should be the help system - it'll probably tell you what you need to know.
