FEDPARDY

Tuesday April 11
by Jessecka

April Foolishishness continued with your Hostess with the Mostess taking a stab at hosting Fedpardy! The contestants entered the studio, all anxious to see who might be able to beat Fancy at his own game. We had Funster, Honoria, Asterix, Robius and Fancy playing tonight, with Categories ranging from Send Me To Orbit, "M"mmmmm for Yummy, So You Love Sumatra, and Who's Who in Fed2. After a brief moment for rules, we got the night started by spinning the wheel, with Robius grabbing control of the board first with 1000.

Robius lead us off with the first answer of the night, Who's Who for 1. He answered, Part of the Mod staff and a member of the Test team, he usually teaches people the right way to play with his trusty I-Beam., correctly as Who is Djentsch? to keep control of the board. We moved on to Who's who for 2, This staff member obviously has a goddess complex, and a kicking fetish, since she hosts a Kicking game, and also abuses the Newsdroids, which Fancy snatching control away with the correct response, Who is Jessecka? Ok Robius, good job... since the answer was your WIFE!

Fancy decided to take Us Into Orbit on the next one for 1 point, and correctly responded to Is that a lump in your throat from viewing this planet's misty, blue-green surface? with What is Earth? Trying out all the categories, Fancy moved on to So you Love Sumtra. After grabbing a point for Surrounded by a high ferroconcrete wall, topped with razor wire and dotted with the familiar bright yellow and black toxic symbol signs, this area is the dumping ground for what toxic substance? by answering What is coffee? we moved on to the night's first stumper. "M"mmmmm for Yummy got everyone confused with the first answer, You put the correct coins into the appropriate slot, and your chili-dog appears from a serving hatch. It's hot... and very spicy... it appears to be made of this. Funster responded with, Who is Bamababe...which of course is just gross. After no one else wanted to give it a try, we passed it, although everyone should have known it was Meat!

The first round continued, with several other answers stumping even the usual game host, Fancy. We finished up round one with both the Daily Doubles still on the board, and Fancy leading the game with 11 points, followed by Asterix with 2, Hon with 0, Funster -1, and Robius with -3.

Round two began with your Hostess with the Mostess doubling all the remaining points, which always makes them think harder before buzzing in...specially on those 10 point ones! As the one in last place, Robius got control of the board again, and started us back off with Who's Who for 6 points. With a purr dreaded far and wide, people rejoiced when this staff member took over the hosting of the game we are playing tonight, was the answer, and Robius, only reading the Purr part, bombed out with Who is Catspaws. Fancy stepped up, and got the points with the correct response, Who is Fancy... imagine that, he knew himself!

Round two flew by fast, with Fancy finally finding the first of the night's two Daily Doubles in the category Send Me Into Orbit. Risking 11 points, out of 33, Fancy lost out with a response of What is Doris to the answer of From here is looks like a small, unremarkable lump of rock. The correct response was, What is Phobos? Funster found the last Daily Double on So You Love Sumatra. Risking all 5 of his remaining points, Funster lost out when he couldn't think of the answer to, Getting into this might drain you of some stamina, but it's worth the fun in the end. The correct response would have been What is the Fountain? Finishing up the Double Fedpardy, our scores going into Final Fedpardy were, Honoria and Funster with 0 points, Robius with 9, Asterix with 12 points, and Fancy with 32. Asterix, Robius and Fancy all advanced into Final Fedpardy, but a great job to Honoria and Funster to finishing without negative points!

Our final category of the night was Fed2 Commands. Our clue was, This command is used only once in your fed life, and can often be confused, causing you much embarrassment if someone notices it on the bar board. The clock began to wind down, with the responses coming in slowly. Finally, as the clock finished up, the last response was in. We started with Robius, who had the least amount of points. He wagered all 9 of his points, and responded correctly with What is Deposit a Bond? He doubled his points and came up with 18. Asterix responded with What is Suicide? Oh, no, so sorry Asty...and what did he wager? Why, all of it, leaving him with 0 points. Last, we came to Fancy, our leader going into Final Fedpardy. He wagered 8 points and correctly responded with What is Deposit a Bond, bring him to a total of 40 points, and making him the night's Fedpardy Champion!
