Sometimes the most delightful bars can be found in the most inhospitable places. Take Chez Guevarra, for example. The Sumatran authorities can be somewhat overzealous in their anti-coffee smuggling campaign, and I've found this comfortable bar provides a much needed respite.

The chairs are deeply cushioned, and the waitdroids are quiet. Furthermore, the drinks and snacks are to die for. Whether you want to discuss the latest ideas to come out of the nearby university, or just sit quietly and read, you will find what you're looking for at Chez Guevarra.

They also have one of the most extensive collections of cowbells in the solar system, many of which are used in the house band's lively performances, accompanied by the shouts of the landlord for more cowbell.

When one has traveled the void of space as much as this reporter, you begin to appreciate a clean restroom, and this bar has one of the cleanest. It has both hot and cold water, soap, and hand dryers; the proprietors even pipe in music from the pub!

And, of course, the patrons are always glad to see you. They inevitably cheer your arrival, and greet you by name.

Before you know it, the loafers expect you to buy the next round!
