THE LATTICE EXCHANGE EXPANDS

The Galactic Trading Guild has announced that tomorrow the trading exchange on The Lattice will be expanding into an extension built on to the existing building. This is due to the problem of over-crowding in the existing exchange.

Although the Lattice exchange is no smaller than that found on many other worlds, for some reason it always seemed cramped because many traders had taken to hanging around in the exchange in between trades. A spokesthing from the Guild put this down to the unique transportation system on the asteroid: the teleport disks made it less natural to step outside of the exchange for a break, to phone head office or consult with colleagues, so traders had taken to huddling in corners inside the exchange, which caused the over-crowding.

Due to the impossibility of moving the transporter disks, which are operated by a technology we still do not understand, the room which currently houses the exchange will become a lobby, with ample room for traders to cluster outside of the main business area. The exchange itself will open in a new extension to the building to the west.

All those who use the exchange on The Lattice are advised to update their maps as soon as possible after the official opening ceremony tomorrow.

We asked the Guild's spokesdroid whether there were any other reasons for this change, such as rumors that the new portable price-display screens that some traders have taken to using were confused by the teleportation system on the planet, but it declined to comment.
