FEDPARDY

Tuesday March 14
by Fancy-Fancy

Five players joined me in Studio 1 for tonight's edition of Fedpardy, and another three tuned in to watch. Robius, Jessecka, Stirling, Priscilla, and Catspaws all came to Studio 1, and Droid, Kalandra, and Nexilar joined the channel to watch the relay. Robius, Jessecka, and Stirling were all present at the start, and all knew how to play the game, so we dove right in. I revealed the categories for the night - The Ides of Fed, The Galactic Administration, The Tour, and Fun and Games - and then the players spun for the right to select first tonight, which Jessecka won. Priscilla joined us right after the first answer was revealed, from Fun and Games, which Stirling rang in to get. I then quickly went over the rules for her. Catspaws showed up a bit after that.

Jessecka collected three straight to score 6 points just in time to find the first Daily Double in Fun and Games. She decided to risk 3 points on it, and this was the answer:

In several places around the solar system you can see the equipment for this game. Frequently, the equipment is also pinning a picture.

Jessecka responded, "what is crocket?", but the correct game was darts. The 5 point answer in Fun and Games got passed, though Jessecka was tempted to ring in and respond (and would have been correct, as it turned out), but held off. Robius got on the board with a question that both Jessecka and Stirling missed. Stirling grabbed the 1-point answer from The Ides of Fed to get back on the plus side before finding the other Daily Double in The Galactic Administration with the last selection of the Fedpardy round. Stirling decided to risk only what he had - 1 point - and this was the answer:

You can find William March Tweed, better known by this nickname, in charge of the planning and zoning department.

Stirling could only come up with, "What is Mr. Tweed? lol". That wasn't the nickname, though, so it cost him. Jessecka knew it, though, and upon my invitation to her to say it, correctly identified the nickname - Boss. Robius led at the break with 2 points to Jessecka's 1, and Stirling's 0.

Stirling got the first selection of Double Fedpardy as the one trailing, and selected The Ides of Fed for 4 to start Double Fedpardy. The first nine answers of Double Fedpardy were correctly questioned without a miss, and the last answer got passed on by everyone. After Double Fedpardy, the scores were:

Robius: 30
Priscilla: 24
Jessecka: 13
Stirling: 0

Robius, Priscilla, and Jessecka advanced to Final Fedpardy, with the chance to risk whatever portion of those points they each wished to. To help the Finalists decide how much they wanted to wager, I gave them tonight's Final Fedpardy category of... * Potluck *. Once Robius, Priscilla, and Jessecka had all placed their wagers, I revealed the Final Fedpardy answer and started the 60 second timer:

For those who want to reduce their insurance premiums, a droid named zork857 can knock off this many deaths from your insurance record for the bribe of one slithy tove.

We started with Jessecka, who entered Final Fedpardy in third place. She wrote down, "what is 5", which was correct. Her wager was zero, so her score remained 13 points.

We took a look at Priscilla's response next. She also came up with, "What is 5?" Her wager was 7 points, giving her 31 total.

That left us with Robius, the leader coming in. He also wrote down, "what is 5?" The question then was, "Did he risk enough?" He did, with 4 points, giving him 34 total, and this week's Fedpardy championship.

Congratulations to Robius, Priscilla, and Jessecka, tonight's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in this week's Fedpardy. Thanks to all who played and watched. I hope you'll be back with me in Studio 1 on March 28 for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY! On March 21, we'll play the Fed Phrase Game there. Join me for that Tuesday night.
