A LORD AND HIS LADY - A ROMANCE LOST

Part Two
by Jessecka

After a chance meeting in the Cantina on Earth, Lord Furgas and Rowan began to drift together like two lost souls in a sea of anguish. Both separated from their homeworld, Furgas by circumstances out of his control, and Rowan by ignorance as well, they had a common bond. Meeting in different bars across the galaxy, the two would reminisce about their home and their former lives. Amid rumors of a bloody battle for control of Dilconia by rebel leaders set to overthrow the vampires, a friendship was forged.

Soon the power of their bond became evident to both of them. As their friendship grew, so did their love, and before long they were meeting in secret places to steal kisses and hold each other close. As their love blossomed, so did their passion for one another, often keeping them from other people, in seclusion for days on end. On a dark moonless evening, by a deep underground pool, Lord Furgas took Lady Rowan in a secret ritual that once completed, made him her master for eternity.

Lord Furgas and Lady Rowan were married on Earth in a simple ceremony, followed by a subdued reception. Even in the joy of their union, they felt sorrow for the homeworld they had lost, and the hardship it was facing. After the Link went down, Dilconia was plunged into a great civil war between the vampires and the human residents. Without the gentle guidance of its beloved Lord, the planet was in deep turmoil. Lord Furgas threw his energies into his company in Sol, trying to build it into a financial empire, and urging his private labs to search for an answer to the Link problem so that he could finally take his lady love back home.

Then came the first reports of the Link being broached by GA Naval units that sparked a flame of hope in the couple's hearts.
