CRYPTOGRAMS

Saturday December 31
by Catspaws

How better to end the year than with a good mind-exercising game of Cryptograms? And this week, we gave away the promised slithy tove. We held the last Cryptograms game of 2005 at the Sizzling Wok on Mercury, to thumb our noses at the feline-eaters around the world.

Joining us this week were regulars Fancy and Phedre, and new faces Guido and Lynnea. Nancy and Ferreri were watching on the Cryptograms channel.

We started the game with what I thought was a fairly simple list, Manufacturers in Fed. Fancy, of course, finished first, with Phedre second and Guido third. The second list was Commodities Seldom Traded. Fancy was first, Guido was second, and Phedre was third.

To honor broken promises, the third list was New Years' Resolutions. The sixth item on the list is one we should all do: Play More Fed. Fancy, Phedre and Guido got this list, and Lynnea was only a few seconds behind Guido.

For the next list I went exploring the asteroid belt before the game, and came up with six items: Things You See in The Asteroid Belt. These were all in asteroid space, and turned out to be as much of a challenge as I'd hoped. Again, Guido barely beat out Lynnea for third, and Fancy and Phedre kept their respective spots.

The final list was Things to Do on New Years' Eve, and Fancy admitted to using educated guesses a time or two. (Who would have thunk it?) Fancy came in first, Phedre second, and Guido third, causing Lynnea to pout.

Congratulations to Fancy who came in first again this week, Phedre, our second place and slithy tove winner, and Guido, a new player who came in third.

Join us next Saturday at 4.00pm eastern for another exciting game of Cat and Mou... I mean, Cryptograms, and start the new year off right!
