FEDERATION 2 PLAYER PLANETDJENTSCH: MARINA - RUSSIA SYSTEMThe planet Marina is my attempt to express what I have learned about Russia, its history, culture, and the people that live there. I first learned about this other side of Russia when I met the person that I have named the planet after, Marina. When I met her, she was a 23 year old lady that had agreed to work in a club called the Mustang, in the city of Tongduchon, South Korea. She chose to do this because finding work in her village where she is from is hard. Nor is it easy to find work in the larger cities that surround her home. As I learned more about Marina and her home, I also learned more about the country that she is from. Just talking to her, using the few translation books that I could get my hands on, made me understand the hardships that people of her age face, and why some many of them agree to work in these clubs that are located by military bases. I hope that you enjoy your visit to the planet Marina, and that you also learn a little about the country my dear friend is from. |
