CLOUDBASE: CUMULUS - CLOUD SYSTEM
In the farthest reaches of the galaxy lies a long since forgotten system, the Cloud System. So called because it resides within the confines of a large dense cloud of space dust, which has caused its location to be one of myth. This cloud so dense and lit by the sun protects and isolates these planets, as a combination of size, density and ingredient render all forms of electronic surveillance, either from the outside or within, totally ineffective.
The Cloud system is made up of four M-Class planets Cumulus, Stratus, Cirrus and Nimbus, and an orbital space station Cloudbase. Cumulus being the principle planet in the system, and home to the Cloud system government. Whilst these planets are run on a purely democratic basis, the election of their leaders take place very infrequently as they are elected to that position for life. There are no political parties as politics has long since been outgrown, instead specialists from all walks of life are elected into office based upon their specialist skill enabling them to serve their people efficiently and to their maximum benefit |

The inhabitants themselves are of human form, they have evolved over the eons and developed their own characteristics. Tall, slim, pale skinned and long flocks of bright red hair characterise this race, they are also noted for their piercing stares. According to myth, they have the ability to look into your very mind and read you innermost thoughts.With a life expectancy of around 800 years, they are also thought to be the most enduring of the Human Species.

The Cloudarian race are very inward looking and as such, very few are ever seen within the Galaxy, despite the fact that they were probably the first to develop space flight and interstellar jump technology. Occasionally though, individuals do appear within Federation Space, despite the fact that they are not yet members of the Federation, they are welcomed by all for their pleasant manner and generous nature.
Having outlawed war many centuries ago they strive for peace, though do reserve the right to exercise force to ensure that peace prevails.
One day, as legend states, the Cloud system will be discovered again by one of its own, and brought into the realm of the Federation.
